Hangkai Electric Technology originated from Hangzhou Switchgear Factory, founded in 1958, and is one of the first batch of enterprises designated by the state to produce high- and low-voltage complete switchgear sets since the founding of the People's Republic of China. The company has successively obtained many titles, including National High-tech Enterprise, Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology-based SME, Zhejiang Provincial Innovative SME, Hangzhou Enterprise High-tech R&D Center, and Hangzhou Patent Pilot Enterprise.

Inheriting the "Hangkai" brand, the company takes digital transformation as its engine and stands at the forefront of the wave of automation upgrading. In 2023, the modern Jiangshan Intelligent Lean Factory, with a total investment of more than RMB 100 million and covering an area of over 20,000 square meters, was officially put into operation.

Hangkai Electric products are exported to more than 20 countries, including Southeast Asia, Europe and America, Africa, and South America. The products are widely used in urban and rural power grids, petrochemicals, steel, power plants, machinery, construction, and many other fields. A series of premium projects, including the Great Hall of the People, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Hangyang Group, Hangzhou Metro Line 1, and Geely Automobile Factory, have witnessed the steady growth of Hangkai Electric. It has continued to be an officially authorized strategic partner of internationally renowned brands ABB and Schneider Electric.

Rooted in China and looking to the world, in 2023 Hangkai Electric actively expanded its overseas market footprint. OUR HISTORY

August 1958
Hangzhou Switchgear Factory was established, the first enterprise in Zhejiang Province specialized in manufacturing high and low voltage switchgears.
1965
Zhejiang Switchgear Factory was founded.
1989
The enterprise obtained the first batch of official certificates for production procedure and product quality rectification of high and low voltage switchgears issued by the Ministry of Machinery Industry and Ministry of Energy. Its low-voltage switchgear qualification certificate is the top-grade Red Certificate.
1997
The enterprise merged with Hangzhou Electrical Control Equipment Factory and completed corporate merger and restructuring.
2002
The second corporate restructuring was carried out, with Hangkai Electric holding a 57.66% equity share.
2016
Spin-off restructuring was implemented, and Hangzhou Hangkai Electric Technology Co., Ltd. was founded.
2019
The IN3 system was introduced to production lines to realize full lifecycle traceability of all products.
2020
The enterprise was certified as a Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Small & Medium-sized Enterprise.
2021
A total of 17 invention patents have been granted to the enterprise.
2022
The enterprise was recognized as a National High-tech Enterprise, and its Jiangshan Branch was set up.
2024
The whole production and delivery segment was relocated to Jiangshan, with the annual per capita output value exceeding RMB 2 million.
2025
The R&D Center for Distribution Network Automation was established.
